Jianshangou Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Kalameili Mountain area in the northeast of Zungaer Basin, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The reference section is located at Xidagou, Jibensaer County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It was named by Xinjiang Geology and Mineral Bureau National Multiple Stratigraphic Division and Comparison Compilation Group in 1996.

Lithology and Thickness
The section mainly consists of purple-red, brown-red mixed with a small amount of yellow and gray-green conglomerate mixed with mudstone. The thickness is 780 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The yellow purple-red conglomerate interbedded with mudstone at the bottom is in unconformity contact with the underlying Permian (shown as Wuerhe Fm in strat columns; but this is not in Lexicon).
Upper contact
The red conglomerate on the top is conformable contact with the Xiaoquangou Group or Karamay Fm (Kelamayi Fm )
Regional extent
This group is mainly distributed in Xidagou, Qitai, Dalei, Fuyun, Tuoli County, etc. in Jimsar County, with stable lithology and large thickness variation, ranging from 32-1404 m.

Vertebrates: Lystrosaurus hedini, L. broomi, Chasmatosaurus yuani, fish and Ostracods.
Age
Depositional setting
It is interpreted as mainly marine deposits, with interbedded continental deposits.
